How To Upgrade Weapons In LEGO Fortnite
To upgrade your weapons in LEGO Fortnite, you would need to equip it with Runes which are obtained from Rune Forge. A Rune Forge can be built with
- 20 * Knotroots (found inside caves), and
- 6 * Glass (craft using 2* Sand and 1 * Brightcore in a Metal Smelter).
Head over to your Rune Forge and click the ‘Roll For Runes’ option to apply a set of three Runes to upgrade your weapon. You will have to pay Essence (LEGO Fortnite currency). If you want a better set of Runes, you can Reroll by spending 50 Essence.
The cost of each Rune depends on their power and rarity. The list of Runes and the amount of Essence required to equip them is given below:
- Common Runes (Level I) – 75 Essence
- Uncommon Runes (Level II) – 110 Essence
- Rare Runes (Level III) – 150 Essence
You must take your pick wisely as once the Rune is equipped to the weapon, there is no way to remove it. The probability of finding a Rare Rune while randomly rolling is very low. To get the best Runes, it is essential for you to get a Rune recipe to unlock Runes.
How To Craft Rune Recipes In LEGO Fortnite
To craft new Runes using Rune recipes, you will have to go to the Lost Isles region and find Klombo Rune Tomes. You can loot these Uncommon rarities by opening Chests in the Floating Island Biome. You can also find Klombo Rune Tomes in Chests located in Beast Dens, and the ones that are guarded by Golems.
After getting a Klombo Rune Tome in LEGO Fortnite, you can equip it to your hand and click on the Fire button. After reading it, you will have access to a Rune recipe and a random Rune will be unlocked. You can then equip this Rune to your weapon. Such tomes can give you access to Runes of any rarity.
Only one Rune can be acquired from a Klombo Rune Tome. A tome cannot be reused and will disappear from your inventory once you have read it.
Currently, LEGO Fortnite offers a total of nineteen Runes. There are three main types of Runes as mentioned above and the higher the levels of the Runes are, the more powerful they become. It is wiser to hunt down Runes of higher quality before adding it to the weapon.

- Rune of Destruction III is one of a kind with a single level that will give you the chance to destroy resources instantly.
For example: Rune of Luck Level III will increase your probability of acquiring more loot compared to Level I. Hence it is better to equip Level II Runes especially when you consider the fact that a Rune once fitted to a weapon cannot be removed.
