Cult Of The Lamb, the multi-award winning game from Digital Devolver released in 2022; however the game continues to find ways and means to keep the game fresh and exciting for fans and newcomers. One such update, the ‘Unholy Alliance’ update released on Aug 12 which introduced local co-op, a much requested feature for the game. If you are one of those looking to have another run with your friends, we have put together in this article how to play co-op in Cult Of The Lamb.

Co-Op In Cult Of The Lamb Explained

The steps to connect with your friend and play co-op in Cult Of The Lamb are as follows:

    • Pause your game
    • Select ‘Add Co-Op Player’
    • Choose the Controller for that player
    • Select ‘Summon The Goat’

You will then see The Goat – as the second player alongside your Lamb for co-op. Once the session is done, or you want to continue further on solo; you can go to Pause your game and select ‘Remove Co-Op Player’.

Does Cult Of The Lamb Have Online Co-Op?

No, Cult Of The Lamb has not introduced Online Co-Op. The Unholy Alliance update has introduced local Co-Op; which means for now it is meant to be played with friends at your place and does not (so far) have the option to play with your online or remote friends. However, the players can try Steam Remote Play if they are determined to have an online co-op going to play the game with their remote friends. Also, for this to work, atleast one of the players needs to be using a controller – else the system wrongly assumes both keyboards to be the one and the same.

Co-Op Additions In Cult Of The Lamb Unholy Alliance

Cult Of The Lamb has also added co-op exclusive Tarot Cards, Relics as part of the Unholy Alliance update. These Tarot Cards and Relics lean on co-op related benefits and perks to make the experience that much more enjoyable.

New Co-Op Focused Tarot Cards In Cult Of The Lamb:

    • The Comrades : When fighting close together, deal 2x weapon damage.
    • The Rivals : When fighting apart, deal 2x weapon damage.
    • Bonds Of Battle : Both players are connected by a beam that damages enemies on touch.
    • The Synchronous : Deal critical hits when both players attack at the same time.
    • Flint & Steel : Rolling through one another has a 20% chance of causing an explosion.

New Co-Op Focused Relics In Cult Of The Lamb:

    • Cross Eye of the Crow : Spawns an eye that travels between both players, dealing big damage to enemies on contact.
    • Ashes of the Mercurial Mun : Create an explosive ring around both players.
    • The Clasped Hand : Both players heal half a heart.
    • Kudaai’s Last Tooth : Swap your Weapon and Curse with the other player.
    • Wishbone of the Marbais : Take damage and the other player will receive 10 seconds of invincibility

The new Tarot Cards, Relics for co-op are nicely tailored and I have had great fun playing with these. The update also includes a lot of other additions as well, you can refer the detailed patch notes here. Meanwhile, the base game itself holds pretty interesting quests and secrets. You can check out ones on Snail Statues or Sozo’s quest.
