How to Unlock TR-40 Golden Eagle Armor in Helldivers 2
The TR-40 Golden Eagle Armor in Helldivers 2 will be given to everyone for free starting on August 8, 2024. Steam users can get it 48 hours early by tuning into the official Arrowhead stream on Steam and watching for at least 10 minutes. This stream starts on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 10 am BST / 2 am PT.
Eligible Steam users will automatically be gifted the armor after watching the stream for the required amount of time. The stream is set to loop for 24 hours so you can still get it if you tune in later as it is a pre-recorded video playing on stream instead of an actual live stream.
How Good is the TR-40 Golden Eagle Armor in Helldivers 2?
The TR-40 Golden Eagle Armor is a Medium Armor in Helldivers 2 with the Extra Padding perk. The Extra Padding gives it 50 additional armor points on top of its base points of 100, bringing it to 150 armor which is more than standard Medium Armor without this padding.
We have other armors in the game with this perk, so it is nothing too unique. It does have a stylish look with the original Helldiver armor feel but with more yellow color splashed onto it. It is the most beneficial for players who do not have a Medium Armor with Extra Padding yet.
How to Get TR-40 Golden Eagle Armor Early on PS5 in Helldivers 2
Unfortunately, PS5 users cannot get the armor 48 hours early as this is only available to Stream players watching the official stream on Steam. However, since all players will get it two days later on Thursday, August 8, 2024, PS5 users will eventually get to play with it anyways.
It is unexpected for a PlayStation title to have an exclusive early access item for PC players instead of PS5 players but it seems like Arrowhead is trying to cater to the PC audience after the dwindling player counts on Steam. Regardless, the TR-40 Golden Eagle Armor is set to come out alongside the new Warbond called Freedom’s Flame so PS5 players have a lot of content to look forward to.
