Atlyss features a variety of weapons that you can use to fight enemies during battle or as crafting components. One such weapon is the Rude Blade. It is a common melee weapon that is quite easy to obtain and is also not that powerful in a fight.
However, the Rude Blade is one of the key items required for a quest completion and crafting one of the more powerful weapons in the game. Keeping that in mind, this article will provide a complete guide on how you can acquire a Rude Blade and its uses in Atlyss.
How to find the Rude Blade in Atlyss

You can obtain the Rude Blade in the Crescent Keep region of Atlyss. This area is crowded with the Mouth enemies. Defeating these enemies will allow you to farm the weapon from their drops. These are the same bad-breathed enemies that Sally warns you about earlier in the game..
If you’re farming for the Rude Blade, it’s best to head to the upper and western terraces of Crescent Keep. You will have a better chance of acquiring the weapon there by defeating the Mouths.
Another reliable method to get the Rude Blade is by purchasing it from various vendors in the Sanctum area. This is helpful if you’re short on time and just want to get the weapon as soon as possible without having to farm for it.
The Rude Blade is a one-handed Strength-based melee weapon. It has a base damage of 8–16 and provides a small bonus of +1 to Attack Power. While it isn’t the strongest weapon in the game, it’s roughly similar to the Dawn Mace. It is still, however, slightly less effective when talking about raw stats.
How to use the Rude Blade in Atlyss

The Rude Blade is an important item that is required for completing the Makin’ a Vile Blade quest, and crafting the Vile Blade.
This quest will become available when your character reaches level 10 and can be started by talking to Sally in Sanctum. During this quest, Sally will ask you to collect a few crafting items for her. These items will be:
- 1 Rude Blade
- 5 Mouth Bittertooths
- 3 Slimek Eyes
- 10 Deathgel Cores
The other items can be collected from nearby regions like Effold Terrace and the Sanctum Catacombs.

Once you have collected all the required items, return to Sally, and she will use them to craft the Vile Blade for you. The Vile Blade is a significant upgrade over the Rude Blade. It has 14–19 base damage, along with +5 Attack Power and +6 Dexterity.
Additionally, it has a 12% chance on hit to apply Vileblade Poison, which adds a powerful status effect to your attacks and makes the weapon even more effective in battle.
After completing the Makin’ a Vile Blade quest for the first time, a new version of the same quest called Makin’ More Vile Blades will become available. This quest is repeatable and will allow you to craft more Vile Blades using the same materials as many times as you wish.
