How To Beat Exploding Flame Desert Wizard In Throne And Liberty
You should know by now that the key to defeating a tough boss is to learn its moves and the methods to avoid getting hit by it. So let’s first take a look at the multiple different attacks that Exploding Flame Desert Wizard can do and how you can counter it.
Exploding Flame Desert Wizard Attacks
- Fire Tornado: a constantly moving fire tornado that persists through the entirety of the fight. You will need to constantly keep an eye on it to avoid it if it approaches you.
- Basic Fireballs: The basic attack for this boss where she throws fireballs at you, can be blocked or dodged to avoid.
- Backstep Attack: Exploding Flame Desert Wizard will quickly take a back step with a spinning move and throw down a fireball at the ground in front of you. Can be dodged or blocked.
- AoE Flame attack: Creates a wall of fire in front of her that stays for a few seconds. Can be avoided by dodging to either side of it.
- AoE Explosion: In this attack, she will first charge up the fire tornado and make it bigger followed by a full arena-covering explosion attack that can deal massive damage. Avoiding this attack requires you to be up in the air when it happens.
Strategy To Defeat Exploding Flame Desert Wizard Boss
As mentioned earlier in the intro to this article, the Desert Flame Wizard in Throne and Liberty is fairly easy when compared to other tougher bosses like the Old Wizard’s Eye that you face on Floor 14. Your main tactic with this fight is going to revolve around avoiding the AoE explosion attack as it’s the only attack that is threatening enough since it can take a big chunk off of your health bar.
There is a special method by which you can easily avoid the AoE explosion attacks. When you see her teleport to the center, you need to start moving toward the tornado. She will put down two circles near the tornado which makes it bigger and your goal here is to run into the tornado on the second circle which will make your character launch up in the air.
At the peak of your height in the air, use morph and turn into a bird to glide back down safely, by the time you reach the ground, the attack will be over and you will successfully dodge it. This can be a bit tricky to understand but once you get the hang of it, it can be done easily and consistently. If you happen to get hit by it, it is going to cause some massive damage and possibly even kill you in one shot depending on your class and stats.
Other than that, the remaining attacks can be easily dodged, blocked, or avoided by moving away from its AoE. You can also tank the basic attacks and even the AoE flames that appear on the floor on some of the attacks. It may even be an internal design to have most attacks be weaker but have a massive one-shot attack that can nearly kill you if it didn’t already.
When it comes to weapons, the Greatsword is going to be the best one for this boss fight but since it’s a relatively easy boss, you can try using other weapons as well and even the abilities don’t need to be anything specific. As long as you dodge the AoE explosion attack, you should be able to beat the Flame Desert Wizard in Throne and Liberty no matter what weapons or abilities you use.
