Cult Of The Lamb has a heady mix of rogue-lite dungeon crawling along with some solid sim management and base-building gameplay; and it all comes together surprisingly well. As a leader of the cult, you will constantly face tough and intriguing decisions – and one of these will be how to deal with dissent. If you have had enough from a Follower; and don’t want him running about disturbing your faithful, we have put up the full guide on how to deal with Dissenters in Cult Of The Lamb
What Are Dissenters In Cult Of The Lamb?
Dissenters are Followers who have lost their faith and confidence in you and your abilities as a Leader; and will be identified by red eyes and a general dissatisfied outlook. They will not do work, keep talking and disturbing other Followers – who will either ignore them or start developing their own doubts, or become scared with all the dissent. If not dealt with; the Dissenters will run away from the cult – which is not bad, but they will run away stealing all the money – which is a problem! Hence, you need to deal with the Dissenters in Cult Of The Lamb right away.
How To Deal With Dissenters In Cult Of The Lamb
The game gives you plenty of options to deal with dissent – from benevolent methods like re-educating and feeding them; to pretty violent ones!
- Tier 1 of the Law & Order Doctrine unlocks the ‘Murder Follower’ action; however this, like all such deeds is best performed in the night away from the gaze of other Followers. If they see you performing a murder, the Followers will start losing Faith in you.
- Tier 1 of the Law & Order Doctrine also gives you another option of performing a ‘Ascend Follower’ ritual. This is best done in front of as many Followers as possible; as they become more Loyal to you on seeing you perform this.
- You will unlock the ‘Sacrifice of the Flesh’ from The One Who Waits as you progress in the story which is used to Sacrifice Followers. This gets you sermon points, bones but has a -10 impact on Faith. In addition to this, it also has a long cooldown, so keep that in mind. You can read about how to sacrifice in Cult Of The Lamb here in more detail.
- You can also, like a benevolent and dedicated leader, try and re-educate the Dissenter in Cult Of The Lamb. This can be done maximum once a day, and hence will need the re-education to be performed over successive days. In case you miss this part out; the Dissenter will again revert to his earlier status.
- You can imprison the Dissenter – this helps in keeping the Dissenter away from your other more loyal Followers, it stops the Dissenter from getting more dissented, and your re-education is also that much more effective in prison.
- The Ritualistic Fight Pit that unlocks through the Law & Order Doctrine gives you the option to have two Followers slug it out – and you decide whether the loser lives or dies. Again – a smart way to deal with the Dissenter, except for the fact that you can’t be sure if he will end up losing!
- You can also feed them different types of food to deal with them:
- Deadly Dish – which has a 75% chance of killing
- Minced Follower Meat – which has a 40% chance of stopping a Follower from dissenting
- Magnificent Mixed Meal – which has a 100% chance of stopping a Follower from dissenting
Hopefully, one of these should be good enough to quell dissenters in Cult Of The Lamb. The game has several neat side quests and secrets to discover, and you may want to have a look at our guides on Snail Shells & Statues and Sozo’s quest in Cult Of The Lamb.
