Deadlock is Valve’s latest MOBA, and it’s got a wide cast of characters like you’d expect from the genre and you are going to thoroughly enjoy the game while exploring the universe of Deadlock. This game has a lot to offer but, one of the main components that we are going to talk about is Spirit power. The common confusion is what exactly is Spirit Power, and how does Spirit Power work in Deadlock? Let’s break it down in a way that’s easy to grasp and apply.

What Is Spirit Power In Deadlock?

Spirit Power in Deadlock makes your abilities stronger. The more Spirit Power you have, the higher damage your abilities generally do. The game has an item shop, called the Curiosity Shop, where you use your game credits to purchase items across three major categories. They either come with weapon damage, base health, or spirit power. Now, the first two, are straightforward enough. Let’s talk about the third one.

Fundamentally, Spirit Power in Deadlock is a type of extra-terrestrial energy that players can use to their advantage. It’s more than just an item to buy in the shop. Spirit power will give your abilities that extra boost which can make all the difference between winning and losing in Deadlock.

So, lets say there is a Spirit Power with a +3. Now, one would imagine that it would mean either an increase in your abilities’ damage by a flat 3, or an increase of 3 %. However, those two are incorrect. The key over here is that not all of Deadlock’s skills are impacted by Spirit Power, and those that are, wont be impacted equally.

Anything that has a purple star logo adjacent to it has increased its spirit power capabilities. This implies that it is unaffected if it does not have this star.

The second part to then understand is the extent to which the abilities get impacted. That, also, is decided by the specific multiplier number next to the Purple Star. So, if the damage multiplier next to the purple star tells us how much the ability scales with each point of Spirit Power. Obviously, the higher the better.

The ability capacity and effectiveness will depend on the characters of Deadlock. Every character is unique in its own way with a set of abilities to empower. By using Spirit Power, some characters will gain a buff in damage, while others might gain an increase in timing or health. The Spirit Power may not affect some abilities on some characters at all.

How To Find Spirit Powers In Deadlock

In Deadlock, you’ll get Spirit Power by completing a range of tasks such as:

    • Completing some missions and objectives in the game.
    • Fight and win against rivals. This will help you progress in the game and increase the amount of Spirit Power you have available. Your power pool will grow with every victory. You can use this for more calculated strategic moves in the future.
    • Through special encounters or hidden regions in the maps. Hence, it is highly recommended to take your time searching your surroundings while playing the game.

As a player of Deadlock, learning how to use Spirit Power successfully comes next when you’ve found and collected a sufficient amount of it.

    • You can use Spirit Powers to activate strong spells and special abilities. Using these powers combined with your other abilities, will strengthen your troops’ defenses and have them launch devastating attacks against your enemies.
    • You can use Spirit Power to increase your units’ capabilities during an intense fight. This will make your attacks more potent, swift, or resilient.
    • Spirit Power also helps access some of Deadlock’s features like unique units that can offer more tactical options, interesting buildings, or cutting-edge technologies.

There’s a quick and easy way that you can see how any ability affects damage or its duration at any certain amount of spirit power. One way to do it is to just take the base value of your ability and add the spirit power that you have, then multiply to it. You’ll have different results for different heroes of the game.

However, if you don’t want to do that,

    • Just go into the Sandbox mode available in the game.
    • Buy the exact items that you would have in the game to see how much damage your abilities do.

If at any point you quickly want to see how much total spirit power you currently have, you can see that in the bottom left of your screen. And you can also see the spirit power that everybody else in the game has by just holding Tab and hovering over each of the hero portraits.
