How Does Legendary Crafting Work In The New Milepost Zero Update In Fallout 76

The twentieth update for Fallout 76, and a pretty significant one – the Milepost Zero Update is currently being tested on Public Test Server, and all users who have a copy of the game can check out the update and give feedback on the Fallout 76 Discord or subreddit. One of the key systems introduced here is the new Legendary Crafting mechanics, and we have put up all the details on this in the guide below.

Legendary Crafting System In Milepost Zero Update Explained

The key element of the revamped Legendary Crafting System in Milepost Zero Update for Fallout 76 are Legendary Particles. These are obtained by either scraping Legendary Items that you carry at the workbench, or by trading with other players. The Legendary Particles can be stored in your Scrap Stash.

When you scrap a Legendary Item, in addition to the Legendary Particles, you will also now have the chance to learn one of the Legendary Mods that was on that item. This mod plan can then be crafted by you, using Legendary Particles at your Tinker Bench, and then either traded with another player, or swap it onto another Legendary Item.

This looks to be a pretty neat way to transfer a Legendary Mod that you really like, onto a Legendary Weapon of your choice. However, do note that once a Legendary Mod was swapped on an item, that item will became untradeable, and the subsequent cost for swapping the Legendary Mod will also increase with every subsequent swap. Thus, while the Mod in itself, till the time not equipped on any item remains tradeable, once equipped on an item, that item becomes character-bound and untradeable.
