Throne & Liberty has many side quests to keep us engaged in the world, one of the excellent ways the game pulls the player to the world is by rewarding through exploration. The quest Examine the Contamination of the Ruins takes the player through various interesting locations to make players familiar with the world. If you are having difficulty kicking off the quest or are stuck on some of its objectives, then here is a simple guide to complete the Examine the Contamination of the Ruins questline along with reward details.
Examine The Contamination Of The Ruins Overview

Prerequisite Task: Exploration of the Ruins of Turayne
Objectives:
- Talk to Contamination Investigator Kaleum at Watcher’s Post Watchmen’s Tower
- Send the magical signal at the highest point of the Ruins of Turayne in time
- Defeat the zombies at Ruins of Turayne and collect contaminated specimens
- Interact with the Contamination Measuring Device at the Southern Crater
- Defeat the Skeleton Soldiers of Sylavean Order at the Ruins of Turayne and collect contaminated specimens
- Activate the Contamination Investigation Device at the northern crater
Talk To Contamination Investigator Kaleum At Watcher’s Post Watchmen’s Tower
- Head to the Watchmen’s Tower located south of the Watch Guard Post. Once you are in the town, go to the largest tower in the area. You can’t miss it because it’s the only tower in the area. Climb the stairs around the tower to get to the top, watch your step, there are no guardrails around the stairs. So if you fall, its going to be nasty.
- Once you are on the top, you will find Kaleum knelt down, and talk to him to complete the first objective. The timer will begin, once the conversation is over, we need to quickly get to the half-buried church directly in front of the tower.
Send The Magical Signal At The Highest Point Of The Ruins Of Turayne In Time
- Jump off the tower and start gliding to the highest tower in the Ruins of Turayne. Our location is the half-buried church, we will need to do a perfect landing next to the cross. So, once you are near the spot, slow down and land next to the cross. If you are too fast, you are going to move far ahead and have to go back to the tower to try your luck again.
- Here we can now send the magic signal to finish the second objective. Once you clear out the second objective, the next will focus on killing zombies.
Defeat The Zombies At Ruins Of Turayne & Collect Contaminated Specimens
- Open the map, and you will see three circled areas where the zombies will spawn. Jump off the building and defeat 15 zombies on the ground, you will find them all throughout Ruins of Turayne.
- After you defeat the zombies, you will need to collect Contaminated Specimens from their remains, that’s our second sub-objective here.
Once you have defeated all the zombies and collected all their specimens, the next objective is to find the Contamination Measuring Device for the Contaminated Specimens.
Interact With The Contamination Measuring Device At The Southern Crater
- To find the Contamination Measuring Device, we must head to the crater west of the Ruins of Turayne.
- Once you head over there, you can either interact with the machine right away or clear the enemies around it. Because they will not like the idea of you fiddling with the machine. It is better to just interact with the machine, saving the enemies for the next objective.
Defeat The Skeleton Soldiers Of Sylavean Order At The Ruins Of Turayne
- The next objective has us facing 15 Skeleton Soldiers of the Sylavean Order. Open the map, you will see a giant circle north of the crater (Our current location).
- Either you can head there to kill the enemies, or slay the enemies inside the crater (If you haven’t killed them before) Once you have slayed the 15 of these Skeleton Soldiers, we will have to make or journey to another Contamination Investigation Device, but this time at the Northern Crater.
Activate The Contamination Investigation Device At The Northern Crater
- The crater here is located North of the Ruins of Turayne. Make your way to the crater, and interact with the Contamination Investigation Device to end the quest.
