Dynasty Warriors Origins offers three normal, and then three ‘true’ or different endings to the game. The normal endings are pretty straightforward, there is one for each of the factions and are unlocked by seeing the missions through for that faction. The True endings require you to do things differently, ignoring the stated objectives of that mission, making them difficult to unlock. This guide tells you exactly what to do to achieve the 3 True Endings in Dynasty Warriors Origins.
List Of All True Endings In Dynasty Warriors Origins

Here is the list of True endings in the game:
All the ending have their own separate objectives that we must keep track of. Also, time plays a major role in activating all three unique endings for the game. and complete within time. The Wei True Ending is the hardest to unlock, while the Shu Ending is the easiest.
The good thing is that the replay system in the game allows you to achieve all three endings without requiring a complete replay. Beating the game once unlocks the ability to jump back to chapters to play out previous battles.
If you are not up to the challenge, then you can change the difficulty to make it easier on yourself; this does not have any impact on your ability to get all endings. Let’s start with the easiest one first.
Shu True Ending (Liu Bei True Ending)

Objective: We must face Cao Cao’s force in the Battle of Changban and defeat them to unlock this ending in Chapter 5.
The primary objective of the mission is to escape with Liu Bei, but doing that will cancel the true ending. Here we must follow different steps to trigger the ending.
- Start the Battle of Changban until you are reunited with Liu Bei. Here Cao Cao’s army will appear north of the map. Now you need to to eliminate Yu Jin at Liu Bei’s escape point, then you must go after Zhang Liao. Keeping any one of them alive will result in the defeat of Liu Bei and you will get a Game Over screen.
- Once you have dealt with both Zhang Liao and Yu Jin, then you can move towards Cao Cao’s main army. Now defeat Cao Cao before Liu Bei reaches the escape point.
- Defeating Cao Cao will put you on the path of unlocking the Shu ending.
You can now play the rest of the game as usual without worrying about any other key trigger events for the Shu True ending.
Wu True Ending (Sun Jian True Ending)

Objective: Rescue Sun Jian and Save Sun Ce to trigger the ending.
Rescue Sun Jian in the Battle of Xiangyang
In Chapter 3, instead of leaving Sun Jian, we must rescue him. We must abandon the objective of the mission which directs us to leave Sun Jian. Here we will have to take out Pang Ji, Wang Clan’s General, Mighty General, and lastly Phantom Zhang Jiao.
- At the start of the battle, head west of the map. Take the base then turn left, and head towards the western path. You will encounter a large boulder, wait till Huang Gai makes his way to Sun Jian.
- A secret boss battle will trigger against the Phantom Version of Zhang Jiao. Time is crucial here, we must defeat Phantom Zhang Jaio before Huang Gai reaches Sun Jian.
Tip: If you are unable to defeat Zhang Jiao in time, the fate of Sun Jian will be sealed as usual and he will die. Equip your strongest Battle Arts when facing against the Zhang Jiao. You also have the option to switch to easy difficulty to make things move faster without taking on too much stress from the battle.
After you defeat the phantom, Zhang Jiao, you will be able to save Sun Jian’s life, here you will get a Fate-Altered screen for your decisions.
Save Sun Ce in the Suppression of Wu

Here we must defeat Bailuan while making sure Sun Ce is saved. Our focus will move toward making sure Sun Quan stays alive by moving the right pieces in the battle. Here is the route to keep Sun Quan alive and battle Bailuan in the end. Take a look at an extensive guide to save Sun Ce, here is a brief summary of the task at hand.
- Here head south of the map and defeat Zhang Jiao, and then put all of your attention to helping Sun Quan. If you want Sun Quan to deal with lesser enemies, his heading towards the north will be the proper choice.
- Taking down the base in the south will get a morale boost and take another base while focusing on reinforcement going against Sun Quan. A mist will begin to appear shrouding Sun Ce, now we move on to the last phase of the battle.
- Now you must face Bailuan waiting in a hidden cave located southwest of the map. Defeating Bailuan will unlock a Fate Altered notice and you will be on your way to unlock the Wu True Ending.
Tip: The battle will also be tough, as Bailuan will summon phantom soldiers and start to drop ice shards once he is on low health. Don’t focus on anyone else, concentrate on Bailuan in the battle.
The life of Sun Jian and Sun Ce will trigger the Wu True Ending for Dynasty Warrior Origins.
Wei True Ending (Cao Cao True Ending)

Objective: Save Dian Wei and Keep Guo Jia and Dian Wei Alive.
The Wei True ending will be the most difficult one on the list because of its time requirement in saving Dian Wei in Chapter 3 Battle of Wan Castle. Make sure to keep track of time, if you want to complete it without messing anything up.
Battle of Wan Castle
Head to Chapter 3 for the first event, the timing here is extremely painful, you need to move fast to trigger the events. Switching the difficulty down is the best way to achieve it.
Our objective here is to save Dian Wei, you must complete the entire map within 10 minutes of taking out officers to save Dian Wei.
- At the start of the battle take the base on the northwest and northeast of the map. You will have 4 minutes to capture both of these bases.
- From this point, you will deal with a heavy flow of reinforcement from all corners. You must take out the reinforcement, and the general middle of the map within 2 minutes.
- A ladder man will soon appear, setting the ladder for us to enter the castle. here we will take out Zhang Xiu, Jia Xu, and Zhang Quan. You must defeat them within 2 minutes to trigger the last event.
- And for the last 2 minutes, we must defeat Huche’er. You will find Huche’er deep in the castle.
Note: Paying attention to the dialogue can reveal the success of the battle, if Dian Wei mentions the thinning of the enemy horde, then you are on the right path. If it took too long, then the mission is over.
Battle of Mt. Bailang

Objective: Our primary goal is to keep Guo Jia and Dian Wei alive.
The objectives for the second half are easier than what we dealt with in the Battle of Wan Castle. Just like every run for true ending unlocks, here we must pay our highest attention to the speed. Have Guo Jia as a companion for the battle, the tasks here are going to be a bit easier compared to the rest.
- First claim the base northwest of the map, then head west to the central area and claim the next base. You will encounter Yuan Mei and Nanlou, and defeat both of them.
- Then you will finally face Bailuan, take him out of the picture then activate the ambush in the north to save Dian Wei. The time to defeat him will be the key point here. If Guo Jia says it looks longer than expected, then it means you have failed the task.
- With both of them saved, they head to the prayer altar to stop Zhuge Liang. Then you will need to eliminate Huang Gai at the bottom of Cao Cao’s fleet.
- Defeating Huang Gai will reveal the Fate Altered message appearing on the screen.
Note: If you took a long time to defeat Bailuan, then you must repeat the battle over again.
And that completes all the True Endings in Dynasty Warriors: Origins! Do check our guide on other difficult parts of the game, like the fight with Lu Bu for instance.
