When you are stepping into a post-apocalyptic world with horrid monsters lurking around every corner, you must be prepared to handle anything that comes your way. The world of Cronos: The New Dawn is twisted and a nightmare, to say the least. Here are some of the tips that will help you survive in the world for longer.

Don’t Go Down the Main Path Right Away

The first rule of any survival game is that you always stay away from the beaten path. Since the game is (mostly) linear, always take any opportunity to explore detours before leaving the area to continue with the game. Empty spaces generally have crates, upgrades, crafting materials, and collectibles. The game also helps you find certain items by letting them glow, which is a great indicator to spot the usable items in the room immediately. While you can find items, sometimes you will find a cat. Make sure to pet the cat before you take on the monsters. Cats can drop items that will become incredibly useful in the game. Don’t avoid cats, pet them when you see one meowing.

    Avoid Close Combat

Survival games generally are not built for close combat. In Cronos as well, it is best if you keep the enemy at a distance at all times to protect your health. Since you will be using charged shots to take out the enemies, make sure to stay at a distance. Make a beeline for these best weapons in Cronos: The New Dawn to down enemies with minimal ammo.

    Don’t Shoot at Acid Blobs

When you look at those green colored blobs hanging on the wall, the first instinct will be to shoot at them to release the gas to create a safe path. While the tactic is usable, if you get close to them and back away at a perfect time, you can make the blobs explode without causing any damage to your health. The best part about this is that you will save the ammo without wasting it on them. Try it out; after a few times, you will get the hang of the mechanics.

    Always Charge Shots

While normal shots deal decent damage, a charged shot will help you stun and deal very good damage to enemies. It will also give you a few seconds to back away from the enemy to prepare for another tactic. Charged shots consume the same amount of ammo as the normal shot, so don’t worry about any high ammo consumption. Here, you are just making sure every shot that goes out of the gun counts.

    • A charged shot at the legs will stagger the enemies or just make them fall to the ground.
    • A charged shot at the arm will stop them from fusing with other enemies.
    • A charged shot at the head can lead to instant kill; think of it as the maximum damage output shot.

    Use the Stash

Running out of inventory space has always been a problem, dating back to the first Resident Evil. The best way to rectify the problem is by putting unnecessary items in stash boxes found in the safe room. You don’t have to carry everything with you, as you will quickly find another upgrade on the route that you can’t carry because the inventory is full. You can always backtrack to these boxes to collect anything you need. All stash boxes are connected, so if you store an upgrade core in a stash box, you can easily access it in a different one later on.

    Upgrade the Capacity of Guns

Tired of all the ammo taking a huge chunk of the inventory space? Then upgrade the clip size of the guns to carry more magazines. This will free up some inventory spaces for other items.

    Upgrade Resource Limit in Suit

While we are on the topic of saving space in the inventory, when you are upgrading the inventory, always upgrade the Resources Limit before the Inventory Slots. Resource Limit will help stack items instead of each taking up space in the inventory. Stacking up crafting resources frees up a lot of space.

    Don’t Worry About Locked Doors

You will always find locked doors around corners, but don’t let them stress you out. Since the game does offer a handful of backtracking, you will always go back to the previous area, but with new information in hand. You will find tools that can help you unlock certain doors. For passcodes, we recommend interacting with every piece of document you find lying around in the game. Once you have interacted with the document, you will see the relevant information next time you interact with the locked door’s passcodes.

Loot before you pick up the Objective Item

If you found yourself in a room with a key on the table, then you are probably aware of what will happen the second you pick up the key. Here, the best course of action is to loot everything found in the room before you decide to pick up the key. The same rule applies to doors or buttons; always explore before interacting with anything related to objectives in the game.

You Don’t Have to Kill Everyone

If you are trapped in a combat arena, then you need to get your hands bloody by killing all the enemies in the arena. But if you are not blocked or sealed by any door or path, then you are free to pass the enemies, conserving the ammo and health. Running past the enemies is an option, so make sure to utilize it at times to increase your survival chances.

Cronos: The New Dawn can be a challenging game at times, but this has been the theme for survival games for a long time. Try out the tips mentioned in the article to stay far away from the jaws of the monsters.
