Atlyss is an early-access indie RPG game available on PC. Developed by KisSoft, it has an ever-growing variety of mods being released for the game. From character customization to quality-of-life improvements, these mods drastically enhance your gameplay experience.

Fortunately, modding Atlyss is quite easy. This article will provide a detailed guide on how to mod Atlyss, and also include a list of some of the most popular mods for the game.

To get started with modding Atlyss, you’ll need to install a mod loader that works with Unity-based games. Here’s how you can do it:

    • Step 1: Install BepInEx
Download the BepInEx Pack, which is essential for running most Atlyss mods. If you’re using Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman, search for the BepInEx package and install it through the manager. If you’re installing manually, extract the contents of the BepInEx archive into your main Atlyss game directory. Then, launch the game once. If a black console window appears during startup, you’ve installed it correctly.
    • Step 2: Add the Mod Loader
Download the AtlyssModdingPackage, unzip it, and locate two important files: AtlyssMod Loader.dll and AtlyssLoaderInjector.exe. Move the AtlyssMod Loader.dll file into your ATLYSS/ATLYSS_Data/Managed folder. Then, run the AtlyssLoaderInjector.exe file once. When you open the game again, it should generate a new folder named “mods” inside the main game directory.
    • Step 3: Add Mods
Once the mods folder is created, you can begin adding your downloaded mods to this folder. Just drop the mod files in and launch the game. Most mods will activate automatically.
    • Step 4: Fix Multiplayer Compatibility (Optional)
If you plan to host or join public lobbies while using mods, it’s recommended to install a small patch known as the BepInEx Fixer. This ensures smooth multiplayer performance and helps prevent connectivity issues caused by modded clients.

    AppearancePlus

AppearancePlus is one of the most detailed cosmetic mods available for Atlyss. It allows players to push character customization to the next level by unlocking new texture options, adding jiggle physics, and removing slider limits. This allows players to alter body proportions and facial features beyond the game’s default range.

It also adds a console you can access in-game, letting you reload assets or make changes to some of the visual elements without restarting the game. AppearancePlus is also multiplayer-compatible, so other players can see your customizations as long as they also have the mod installed.

    AtlyssCharacterFreedom

This mod lifts the restrictions placed on character sliders during creation. If you want to create characters with extreme detail or unique appearances, AtlyssCharacterFreedom gives you that flexibility.

This mod can work well on its own as well as alongside the AppearancePlus mod mentioned earlier. That being said, it is important to keep in mind that for others to view your changes in multiplayer, they must also have this mod active.

    Discord Rich Presence

For players who enjoy sharing their gameplay status, Discord Rich Presence adds in-game integration with your Discord account. It displays useful information like your character’s name, level, current zone, and total playtime.

The mod updates automatically as you play, requiring no manual toggles once it’s installed. It’s a great tool for those who stream or play in community servers.

    BepInEx Fixer

While not a traditional mod in terms of visuals or mechanics, BepInEx Fixer plays a crucial role in stabilizing online play. Since Atlyss uses peer-to-peer networking, this patch allows players using BepInEx to host and join public lobbies without errors.

It doesn’t add anything visual or change gameplay, but it’s essential if you plan to play with friends or strangers while using other mods.
