With the Isleweaver update comes some new playable characters and new weapons to own as well. The Thalys is a unique scythe that has been added to the update, and you might need to know the right mods and the right way to use it. This guide will cover the best Thalys build to have to make this weapon OP in Warframe.

How to Get Thalys in Warframe

Let’s start off by finding out how to obtain the Thalys first. The blueprint for the Thalys is obtainable at Mastery Rank 12, after which you need to farm the following items at certain quantities.

    • 96x Scuttler Husks – Obtained from Isleweaver Steel Path
    • 100x Temporal Dust – Obtained from Isleweaver Murmur enemies
    • 1,500x Entrati Obols – Zariman vendor
    • 150x Rune Marrow – Duviri resource caves
    • 180x Silphsela – Found around Duviri

After collecting the required items, visit Dominus Tharax to craft it. It will take 20,000x credits to craft one Thalys.

    Thalys Stats

    • Type: Melee
    • Base Damage: 300
    • Puncture Damage: 90.0
    • Slash Damage: 210.0
    • Critical Chance: 30%
    • Critical Damage: 2.2x
    • Status Chance: 24%
    • Attack Speed: 0.92

    Warframe Thalys Build Explained

To trigger Thalys’ Incarnon mode, you need to get a 6x melee combo with this weapon. Obtaining the Thalys Incarnon will trigger a unique skill, where enemies that are hit with this weapon will have Void shards embedded into them. Each time you hit a new enemy, all existing enemies who have been tagged with the Void shard will receive 75% of damage from the weapon. This is great for low level enemies, but does not deal a lot of damage against late game or higher ranked enemies.

    Warframe Thalys Evolution Explained

To make this weapon work better in late game, you need to work on the weapon’s evolutions. Below are the perks that we have selected that seem to work well with the Thalys.

    • Evolution 2 – Dreadful Reach: On weapon status effect, gain +0.1 Range for 8s. Stacks 20x.
    • Evolution 3 – Echoes of Rage: +1 Combo Count on Shard damage.
    • Evolution 4 – Swift Transmute: You get a 3x requirement reduction for Incarnon Form combo
    • Evolution 5 – Explosive Growth: Shards grow whenever a new shard is created, up to 3 times. Fully grown shards erupt out of embedded enemies, dealing 2x damage and impaling them on the spot.

We have picked these evolutions based on more damage output from Shard damage, plus the additional range from Evolution 2 is quite handy to reach enemies that are farther off. Also, you get to reach Incarnon form much faster with the help of Evolution 4, helping you plant more Shards and create more AoE detonations.

    Best Thalys Mods

    • Berserker Fury – Temporarily increases attack speed for 10 – 20s, activates on killing an enemy. Stacks 2x.

Config B – Melee Influence Build

    • Galeforce Dawn – Stance mod for Scythes
    • Dreamer’s Wrath – Enables Tennokai and also increases Tennokai chances. Also increases Tennokai Heavy Attack CRIT Damage.
    • Primed Fever Strike – Adds toxin damage
    • Vicious Frost – Increases Cold damage and gives 15% status chance per rank (max 60% at rank 3)
    • Organ Shatter – Increases CRIT multiplier by 15% per rank (max 90% at rank 5)
    • Berserker Fury – Temporarily increases attack speed for 10 – 20s, activates on killing an enemy. Stacks 2x.
    • Condition Overload – According to the total amount of status effects on a target, grants extra damage
    • Focus Energy – Attack Efficiency increases by 10% and Electricity damage increases 15% per rank (max 40% and 60% once you hit rank 3)
    • Galvanized Steel – Increases CRIT Chance while increasing CRIT Damage on kill.
    • Blood Rush – Increases CRIT chance correlated to the increase in Melee Combo Counter

There isn’t a stark different between choosing any of the above mods to enhance the Thalys. It all boils down to the type of elemental damage you wish to create. Otherwise, you can focus solely on increasing damage output and CRIT hit chances so your combos can deal extra attacks.

As for the best frames to use this weapon, all frames besides Revenant can benefit from using the Thalys, provided they are at S Tier. You can probably use Oraxia with the Thalys to get the optimal damage output.
