Grounded 2 expands the world of the first installment, giving you new opportunities to explore the unknown. Your first task when you first land in the game is to find a good base location, something that is close to food and shelter sources. There are a handful of areas like that, and this guide compiles the best base locations in Grounded 2.
Grounded 2 Best Base Locations
There are 6 unique locations to pick for the perfect base, and we will walk you through all of the best ones below.
Entrance

To the left of the large gate is an oak tree. If you investigate the side of the oak tree, you will spot several mushrooms. Use them to climb up and start building a base up here on the mushrooms. But, if you don’t prefer building up vertically, then this might not be the best place for you.

The second area to explore is the rocky terrain covered in grass just across the oak tree. This is a great early game area to build on, since you do get tons of food and other crafting resources nearby to build and sustain yourself. Do be warned that you might occasionally get attacked by mosquitoes and other larger bugs here.
Snackbar Front

Right in the center of the area is a Billy Hogs food truck, and right in front of it is a wooden landing, which is a great place to put your base. While you do get a larger and flatter terrain to build, you won’t get a lot of resources nearby except for the giant mushrooms underneath the wooden landing.
Picnic Table

Right at the southern border of the area you will spot some wooden posts lined up. If you head southeast of the picnic table, there is one particular post very close by that offers a perfect spot to build your starting base. There are food and building materials as you go down the pole, and there is another pole nearby to build another base on top of.

Another location to check out is directly to the south of the picnic tablecloth. There is a juice box on the ground here that offers some support when you build vertically. Getting on top of the tablecloth is another option, which is a better option for escaping enemies on the ground.
Ceremony

There is a large boulder right in the middle of the area that offers a higher base building point. There are a few bees that will land here occasionally, but are non-aggressive. For food, you have some wheat and mushrooms growing nearby, but you will also encounter gnats and mosquitoes.
Ice Cream Cart

Right at the northeastern edge of the area, you will spot a curved tree trunk with a sap at the end of it. This is a great place to harvest pine needles, and it is also a known weevil route, making it easier to collect food. Also, the terrain is quite flat, which is helpful in building a larger, more horizontal base. There are also mushrooms and other resources to find around here.
