Borderlands 4 allows you to equip Pistols, SMGs, AR, Shotguns, and lastly Sniper Rifles. Each gun will have a manufacturer in the title, which, for the first-time player, might not seem important. But the manufacturer’s title will drastically change the gunplay and will help you fine-tune the build in the game. Here is a complete guide to all the weapon manufacturers in Borderlands 4.

All Weapon Manufacturers Details in Borderlands 4

Borderlands 4 comes with 8 different manufacturers. Each one is drastically different from the other, making significant changes to how your gun operates.

    Daedalus

Highlight: Offers Multi-loader and Secondary Fire, and adds alternative ammo.

It allows the gun to use two different ammo, perfect for anyone who prefers the gunplay of Assault Rifle, SMG, or Sniper Rifle, with rate of fire and capacity in mind. You can use a Daedalus Sniper Rifle that consumes SMG or Assault Rifle ammo to fire. Daedalus weapons act as a backup ammo case for guns. When your assault rifle starts using sniper rifle ammo, it will not turn the assault rifle into a sniper rifle; instead, it will just use the bullets. It’s important to note that Daedalus just converts the bullets, but the weapon stays the same.

    Jakobs

Highlight: Jakobs will offer high damage, but at a cost of a limited rate of fire and magazine size.

If you like your shots to ricochet and hit multiple enemies at a time, you must go with a Jakobs gun. Add some elemental status effect, and you will strike AoE damage by shooting at just one enemy. But you need to make sure every shot is a critical hit to see the ricochet effect playing out in the combat. If you are good at landing headshots, then you will have a far easier time with Jacob’s weapons.

    Torgue

    Highlight:

    • Torgue Impact – Detonates when it makes contact with an enemy or the terrain and deals splash damage.
    • Torgue Sticky– Shoot gyrojets that stick to enemies or terrain and explode, dealing damage when switching mods.

Here, we are dealing with pure explosive damage, but with options for a more open fire explosive shot that hits on impact. When you switch to the sticky option, you will do a decent amount of damage, but that is not even comparable when you get the projectiles to explode. You can trigger the explosion by just switching modes or simply by reloading a gun.

    Maliwan

Highlight: Switch between two elemental damage types

Any Maliwan gun will allow you to deal some sort of elemental damage (Incendiary, Shock, Corrosive, Cryo, and Radiation); this goes for all the guns in the category. But the highlight here is that it allows you to switch between two different elemental damage types. This comes in handy for higher difficulties and towards end-game.

    Tediore

Highlight: On reload, throw your gun, and you will get a new gun, cancelling the reload animation.

The best thing about Tediore weapons is that not only do they allow you to throw your gun at reload, but you will also find a variety of them that allow you to shoot the thrown Tediore weapon to cause an explosion, or throw a gun that explodes, releases MIRV grenades, or a gun at high speed acts like a javelin throw. The absolute highlight of Tediore is the damage output you will receive for all the tools that you have in your arsenal. And it also makes up for fast-paced gameplay, as you will not feel any downtime seeing the gun reload after the end of a magazine.

    Ripper

Highlight: Allows the gun to charge before firing.

Here, you have higher magazine capacity and rate of fire, but before you can go to town spraying bullets, you need to fill up a gauge by holding down the charge button. One thing that makes Ripper great is its full-auto capability, enhancing the Sniper and Shotgun variants. Here, you must hold down the fire button before starting to spray bullets at enemies. Don’t use Ripper against foes that require a more precise shot to go down.

    Vladof

Highlight: Allows you to gain access to more barrels for a better rate of fire.

The best aspect about Vladof is its high rate of fire, but on the downside, you must deal with lower accuracy and difficult handling. You must use the licensed parts to make the gun work in the game. The alt fire rate for guns has a limited number attached to it; once you exceed that, the gun will enter the cooldown. A gun that is fun to experiment with the various possibilities that the alt-fire mode holds.

    Order

Highlight: Charge the gun to fire more rounds at once.

The Order will offer solid base stats on all weapons, but the firing pattern will take time to get used to: you can either charge to release a spray of bullets, or you can press the fire button for a single shot. The latter is useful in one on one boss fights and taking down tough versions of enemies, while the former is useful in clearing out mobs at close range.

Other manufacturers include: Atlas/ Hyperion/ CoV, but they are all tied to licensed parts. Most of the weaknesses of the guns can be covered with the use of Enhancement Mods. You will not come across any weapon-carrying named in Borderlands 4.
