Dragon Ball Sparking Zero offers an extensive list of movement options while in battle. Utilizing these moves is a surefire way to win upcoming fights with the strongest fighters of the universe. The controls for these movesets are not the easiest to master, but if you can master them, they are a great defensive move to avoid being hit altogether in the game.
In this guide we have detailed out how to perform all dash attacks in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. We will also show you how to counter dash attacks in the game.
All Dash Attacks Explained With Keybinds In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Learning how to dash forward or backward can help you determine whether you can land or avoid a hit. Dashing is one of the fundamental movements you need to learn in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, and below are all the various types of dashes to perform.
Step/Short Dash
The most common dash movement, you just need to press X (PS)/ A (Xbox) and push your movement stick after pressing the buttons to move in that particular direction. Also, the distance between you and your opponent will determine whether you perform a step or short dash. The closer you are to your opponent, the higher the chances for you to perform a step dash. Short dashes are executed when you are a bit farther away from your opponent. Short and Step dashes can help you avoid close combat attacks such as Blast Attacks.
Dragon Dash
The most complex dashing technique to learn, but will also reward you immensely. You need to follow the following keybinds to perform a successful Dragon Dash.
- PS: R2+X.
- Xbox: RT+A.
Using the above combination along with the movement stick of your controller will perform a Dragon Dash following the direction of your stick. Following this up with Smash and Rush combos will help you cover longer distances or land quicker attacks. However, remember that performing this move will consume Ki.
Z-Burst Dash
The Z-Burst Dash is just an extension of the normal Dragon Dash. Below are the controls to perform a Z-Burst Dash.
- PS: R2+X+X.
- Xbox: RT+A+A.
This movement takes up more Ki, so that is something to keep an eye on while performing the Z-Burst Dash. Also, the Z-Burst does not require you to use the movement stick. This move will automatically teleport you behind the enemy, and you can follow it up with any attack move.
Charged Dash Strafe
The Charged Dash Strafe can be performed while in Sparking mode, and the controls are pretty simple.
- PS: R2+X+R1.
- Xbox: RT+A+RB.
After pressing the above button combination, move the movement stick in any direction. Your character will now zip across the field to bridge the distance. This movement is exceptionally great to quickly get from point A to point B. Not all characters can perform this move, and you have to pick characters above 7 DP to perform this movement.
Dragon Dash Cancel
This move is more complicated than the regular Dragon Dash, but can make your movement unpredictable. To perform a dragon dash cancel, just follow the steps below.
- Perform a Perfect Smash first by pressing Square (PS)/ X (Xbox) till your character’s body glows.
- Let go of the button when the character’s glow is apparent.
- Immediately follow that up by holding Up on the movement stick.
- Press and hold the Dash button to go forward.
- Continue to hold the Dash button till your character ascents the max height.
- As soon as you start to descend, double press the Dash button to Dash Cancel.
- Press the Square/ X button slightly till your attack lands on the enemy, then press Square/ X to land more hits.
Timing is everything in performing the Dragon Dash Cancel to perfection, so you have to try this move a couple of times before taking it to the field. Pressing the Dash button too fast or too slow while descending will mess up the momentum.
How To Counter Dash Attacks In Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
Most dash attacks can be countered by guarding or blocking incoming attacks, except for the Z-Burst Dash. Since the Z-Burst Dash happens behind the target, you need to maneuver your character in time to block it. There is a simple trick to follow for this, just keep an eye out on your left side when your opponent is performing the Z-Burst Dash. All Z-Burst Dash attacks will appear from the left, so when you see them zip past you, immediately turn around and block.
As for the other Dash attacks, jumping, blocking, side step, step sway, and instant transmission moves can help you counter. You can also charge and ascend or descend, and you can easily avoid most Dash attacks this way.
