Each chapter in Cronos: The New Dawn offers several collectibles in the form of weapons, comic books, travel logs, and cats. There are other valuable items to locate during your exploration, like Energy Cores and ancient objects. Ensuring that you explore all areas is one of the best tips to survive in Cronos: The New Dawn, and is best started from early chapters in the game.
All Chapter 1 Collectible Locations in Cronos the New Dawn
There are 9 unique items to find while exploring the starting location during the Find the Predecessor objective. These 9 items include a weapon, Travelogs, a valuable item, a cat, and a core. You would probably find most of these items during your exploration, provided you have a keen eye.
Most of them are located within your main path, but if you do end up missing some of them, it doesn’t hurt to read the list below and find out what you are missing.
Weapon: Sword MK-1615
There are no objectives to fulfil or prerequisites to complete, as this weapon is given to you at the very start of the game.
Travelog #1: Heading Forward
After going down the ramp, right after you learn how to perform a melee attack, enter the room to your right. There is a crawlspace to go through, then go through the hole in the wall on the left. Keep going straight within this new room filled with mannequins to find the travelog.
Valuable: Camera (800 Energy)
Within the same room as the Travelog is a generator. After locating the fuse for it, the door next to the generator will open up. You will spot a cat sprinting away, but we are not going after it right now. Rather, go right and enter the door, then turn right again to find the camera on a crate.
Travelog #2: The Way is Shut
While going through the levels, you will have to jump down a ledge and spot two entryways: one on the left and another on the right. On the left is an entryway that is boarded up with the letters A-0 on it. Right beside this door is the second travelog.
Travelog #3: Strategic Advice
Once you reach the flower shop, look around for a hole in the wall and go through it. Go right, then right again. On the left is a barricade, cross over it and go through the hole in the wall on your left. The third travelog is on the chair in the far corner of the room.
Cat: Borowka
Keep going through the passages till you spot a mannequin outside the doorway on the right. Go through it and go right, enter the doorway on your left, and go left again. Use the Shop Key here to unlock the door and go down the stairs. You will spot a tuxedo cat at the base of the stairs; the first of 10 that you can unlock for goodies and a trophy/achievement.
Core #1
After your interaction with the cat, keep going left to find a Save Station. Over here is a workbench too, and a dispenser holding the Core.
Travelog #4: A Proficient Way
Turn around from the Save Station and keep walking till you spot a blocked entryway on your left. Step up to the blocked entrance to unlock it; the travelog is just ahead.
Core #2
Once you are outside, you will get to a section where you need to drop down into a cave. You will also receive a prompt about Burning Bodies and how to do them. There is a crawlspace within the cave. Go through it to find the second core inside the dispenser on your right.
This completes all the collectibles that you can gather in Chapter 1 for Cronos: The New Dawn. The game only gets tougher from here, but you will be surprised how netting a 100% collection can make the game that much easier by giving you all the right tools to make it to the end.
