If you have yearned to be a Descendant with a massive rail gun as a sniper then look no further than Hailey, a new addition to the list of powerful characters in The First Descendant. Dealing high amounts of damage while being as far away as possible has never been easier, so let’s look at how you can have this luxury as well, by unlocking Hailey as a playable character in The First Descendant.

Hailey can be unlocked with 900 Caliber from the store which costs about $20. But, if you want to get Hailey for free, you will have to do some serious grinding like any other Descendant. However, the method and items required to unlock her are different from what we have seen previously with other Descendants which required collecting Component Blueprints.

To get Hailey without paying for micro-transactions, you will need to craft all of her components which are Hailey Enhanced Cells, Hailey Stabilizer, and Hailey Spiral Catalyst. But instead of blueprints, you will need 36 Fragments for each of these components to be able to craft them which are obtained by doing the Invasion seasonal missions. After getting all the fragments for each of the components, you will also need to grind an additional 36 Hailey Data Chips to be able to craft Hailey with all those components.

So in simple terms, this is how your grind will be; first, you will need to farm for one of the components like the Enhanced Cells, Stabilizer, or Spiral Catalyst by collecting 36 fragments of them. Once you have all fragments of all the required components, you will then need to craft them which requires additional resources and items. Once you craft all three components, you will be able to craft Hailey with those components, 36 Hailey Data Chips, and some additional resources to unlock her as a playable Descendant.

How to Farm Hailey Component Fragments

Hailey Component Fragments in The First Descendant are obtained only from Invasion Dungeons. These are the high-level end-game dungeons that get selected daily to become Invasion dungeons. Each day two Invasion dungeons will appear and each of them can only be completed twice in a single day which means you can do a total of four dungeons per day.

But here is the kicker, the Hailey component fragment reward you get is completely randomized which means sometimes you can get Enhanced Cell fragments, sometimes Spiral Catalyst fragments, and so on. The amount of fragments though is dependent on how quickly you can get through the Invasion dungeon. There are three medals based on how fast you clear it; Gold, Silver, and Bronze with Gold rewarding you the most amount of a said component fragment.

However, even with a gold clear, you are only going to get three random component fragments for it and since you need 36 for a single component, it will take multiple days to farm it as you can only attempt these Invasion Dungeons four times per day. If you want some bonus fragments, you can also try to beat the Elite enemies in some of the [Hard] difficulty dungeons.

These are the Elites enemies that can drop extra Hailey component fragments in The First Descendant:

    • Hailey Data Chips: Obtained by defeating White-Night Gulch dungeon Elites.
    • Hailey Reinforced Cell DNA: Obtained by defeating Kingston dungeon Elites.
    • Hailey Stabilizer Components: Obtained by defeating Swamp dungeon Elites.
    • Hailey Spiral Catalyst Rings: Obtained by defeating Agna Desert dungeon Elites.

Once you have collected the Fragments for all the Hailey components in The First Descendant, here is what you will require to craft each of them and then to craft Hailey herself:

    ComponentItems RequiredResearch Time
    Hailey Enhanced Cells200,000 Gold
    x246 Monad Shards
    x239 Compound Coating Material
    x96 Polyatomic Ion Particles
    x36 Hailey Reinforced Cell DNA
    8 Hours
    Hailey Stabilizer200,000 Gold
    x363 Nanopolymers
    x455 Reverse Charging Coil
    x47 Negative Ion Particles
    x36 Hailey Stabilizer Components
    8 Hours
    Hailey Spiral Catalyst200,000 Gold
    x422 Repton
    x544 Carbon Crystals
    x14 Common Carbon Activators
    x36 Hailey Spiral Catalyst Rings
    8 Hours
    Hailey Descendant400,000 Gold
    x1 Hailey Enhanced Cells
    x1 Hailey Stabilizer
    x1 Hailey Catalyst
    x36 Hailey Data Chips
    16 Hours

So as you can see, not only does it take a lot of grinding to get Hailey in The First Descendant but you will also need to wait 24+ hours just to be able to craft her after grinding all of the required components and items. Even if you choose to sink multiple hours into the game, the grind is time-gated to only four dungeon attempts each day which majorly restricts your progress.
