One of the worst things to happen in survival games like Once Human is to run out of backpack slots when you are nowhere close to your base. It can be really annoying when you have to sacrifice some of the items when you need all of them, so here is how you can solve it by unlocking and crafting a Backpack Expansion in Once Human.

How to Unlock Backpack Expansion Once Human
You will need to reach level 15 to unlock Backpack Expansion in Once Human after which you need to get the “Gravel and Log On-the-Go” Memetic Specialization. However, Memetic Specializations are random and RNG-based so you will have to wait around and try to hit your luck when it comes to getting the required specialization.
The only guaranteed way to get the specialization is when you reach the max level which can take quite a while. But if somehow you did not get it the entire time, you will eventually be able to get it after reaching the max character level.
How to Craft Backpack Expansion in Once Human
The Backpack Expansion in Once Human can be crafted at an Intermediate Workbench using these items:
- Rubber x15
- Metal Scrap x10
- Raw Hide x10
Once you acquire these items, you can craft them at the Intermediate Workbench by selecting the recipe and choosing the craft option by pressing the ‘F’ key. Keep in mind that Backpack expansion isn’t technically an expansion, instead, it reduces the weight of materials which technically allows you to carry more of them.
All Backpack Expansion Tiers in Once Human
The Backpack Expansion can be crafted into separate Tiers, but the higher tiers will require more materials to craft. You can only have one tier equipped so you cannot stack the effects together.
Here are all the available Backpack Expansion tiers:
- Tier 1: 40% weight reduction
- Tier 2: 60% Weight Reduction
- Tier 3: 80% Weight Reduction
Keep in mind that this weight reduction effect is only applied to logs, gravel, and ores. So having a Backpack Expansion in Once Human is only useful when you are going on a resource-collecting run. It will make the process of collecting resources much more efficient.
