Baldur’s Gate 3 has broken a ton of records and swept best games awards like few others; and is already being counted as one of the best games ever across genres. The player reception to the game also has been stellar, with the game still regularly featuring in the most played lists on Steam even a year after launch. With the variety of paths that the game can lead you on; one of the questions that would come naturally to a lot of players is – do enemies scale in Baldur’s Gate 3? We have the question answered below

Do Enemies Scale in Baldur’s Gate 3?

No enemies do not scale in Baldur’s Gate 3 depending on the player level; each area and the enemies in that area are designed for a certain level; and the game takes care that the progression route that players are most likely to take will have a steady increase in enemy levels to account for players levelling up along that route. The unfortunate consequence of this is obviously that an under levelled character who happens to enter into an area not meant to be entered at that stage of the game, will face very high level enemies – essentially that is the game’s way of indicating to the player that they need to come back later, and choose a different path for now. Unless of course, in a few cases the game may put up a skill check by increasing the level (and difficulty) of a boss in an area before allowing the player to progress ahead.

Thus, the best way to go about it is not worry too much about rushing through the game or about enemy level. This is a game which has a world meant to be explored and enjoyed at leisure – uncovering its lore, interacting with companions and seeing how that changes your bond with them is the right way to get the most out of this gem from Larian Studios.
