Wuchang Fallen Feathers: Which Weapon Class To Pick?

There are 5 unique weapon classes featured in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and each class offers different skillsets to utilize. If you are wondering which weapon type looks to be best suited to your playstyle, we have got you covered with a detailed look at all 5 weapon types.

All Classes Explained in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

The 5 weapon classes available in Wuchang Fallen Feathers are:

    • Longsword
    • Spear
    • One-Handed Sword
    • Dual Blades
    • Axe

Let’s take a look at each one of them below.

    Longsword

The Longsword scales in Strength and Agility primarily, and its secondary stats are Endurance, Vitality, and Feathering. This weapon class is light enough to move around in, but heavy enough to deal high damage. This is a more balanced class to pick, and great for beginners. To build Skyborn Might using the Longsword for the Feathering stat, you can unlock the Sword Saint skill from the weapon’s skill tree.

This will grant 1 stack of Skyborn Might whenever you perform a second light attack on an enemy. The Longsword’s default ability is Blink Kick, which can be used to break poise and create knockback. This can be replaced with either the Sword Counter or Crescent Ark. Sword Counter is useful to block and counter incoming attacks, while Crescent Ark creates an evade and dash forward for a more offensive attack style.

    Spear

Another weapon that scales primarily in Agility and Strength, the Spear offers longer reach to help keep enemies at a distance while unleashing damage. The Spear is great for dealing multi-combo attacks and evading oncoming attacks. The only downside to the Spear is that you cannot use Feathering here, since its secondary skills lean more towards Endurance and Vitality. Still, you can unlock the required skills from the skill tree if you wish to use magic or spells.

The two upgrades that can be applied to the Spear are Boldheart and Emboldening Spear. Boldheart stacks if you use light, heavy, dash, and final attack combos. Emboldering Spear converts all the stacked Boldheart into Skyborn Might, helping you gain mana for spells. Penetrating Point is another skill that also grants Skyborn Might stacks for each final light attack hit that lands.

    One Handed Sword

What the One Handed Sword lacks in range, it makes up for in spells and power. Its primary scaling falls under Magic and Agility, while secondary is Feathering. This weapon is great for spellcasters, as you can also passively farm Skyborn Might as you keep using this weapon. Plus, with the increased movement speed, you can quickly dash to and from the target to lash out quick damage and inflict spell attacks.

To increase your magic damage, head left of the skill tree to unlock all Magic and Feathering skills. As with most spells, the more damage it causes, the more Skyborn Might it will cost. Unlocking Bidding Time to help speed up the process of accumulating Skyborn Might passively. Ascending Wrath is another skill to unlock, and this will stack Skyborn Might for each light attack combo hit.

    Dual Blades

This has a similar stat build like the Longsword and Spear. But, like the Spear, you won’t have Feathering as your secondary. Dual Blades are great for short, close-range, multi-hit attacks. It is more complex to use than the Spear or Longsword, so you are better off using Dual Blades during mid to late game. The best use of this weapon is the utilization of the Clash Effect. This helps deflect and hit enemies directly, dealing massive damage.

To further increase clash damage and also stack Skyborn Might, unlock Leaf Slasher and Feather Chaser. These skills can be paired with the Blademaster, which restores health for a successful clash attack. Another useful skill to unlock is Mighty Combination. The sixth attack of a light attack combo will give 1 stack of Skyborn Might if the attack hits an enemy.

    Axe

This weapon is a pure Strength class, with its secondary stats falling in Vitality and Endurance. You can’t go wrong with the massive amount of damage dealt by the Axe, which is why this is a great late-game weapon to own. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that you will lack Agility and speed while using the Axe. Also, this isn’t the best weapon for a spell build, it leans heavily towards a full melee damage-focused build.

A skill that can increase the speed of your Axe swing is the Strike and Cleave. You need to time your attacks properly to step up the swing animation, otherwise you will be left with a slow swing if you mash the attack buttons at random. Blocking is one of the strong points of the Axe, you can also use the Earthshatter skill to utilize Skyborn Might and increase your Resilience for blocking attacks.

You can increase Clash attacks using the Chop and Weave skill, which pairs up nicely with Earthshatter. But, if you want to increase your Skyborn Might further, unlock and use the Thunderous Cleave skill instead.

    Which Weapon Class to Pick?

For early gameplay, it is recommended to stick with the Longsword, but you can also use the One Handed Sword if you are more into spellcasting. Later on, switch it out to Dual Blades or the Spear to get a feel of dealing with mostly melee damage and relying less on spells. But, if you prefer a more challenging gameplay, then pick the Axe. This will make you rely solely on brute force, and you can also utilize your skill tree more efficiently to stack up more power.
