If you are visiting Citadelle Des Morts for the scenic view and interesting locations, then you are in for a rude shock. This dead town offers a lot more than what meets the eye, and there are plenty of secrets to uncover during your exploration. While the place is swarming with the undead, you will also find it filled with Easter Eggs to discover.
Once you reach the main castle and gain access to the inside, you can find some strange puzzles to solve. There is a secret Rune puzzle that you can solve as part of the main quest. In this guide we will help you do exactly that.
Rune Puzzle Location In Citadelle Des Morts
You can find the Rune Puzzle once you head inside the castle and head down to the Undercroft. This location is right after the Oubliette Room where the Pack-A-Punch was. Check out the wall furthest from the Undercroft entrance, you will find some cracks on the wall. You cannot break it down using any weapon, rather you need to punch it. But a normal punch won’t work here, head back out the castle to find the Melee Macchiato machine and consume the drink, then come back down here and punch the wall.
How To Solve The Rune Puzzle In Citadelle Des Morts
Several runes will be exposed on the wall, and you need to figure out the runes, and the order in which 6 runes are to be shot down. The clues to solve this puzzle cannot be found within this room though. Head back out and find various black vases within the Tavern. There are 6 black vases to find, and they will spawn randomly all around the top and bottom floors of the Tavern. When you investigate the vase, take note of the number on the vase and the symbol it has, as you need to shoot down the runes in the correct order to solve the puzzle.
After noting down all the symbols and their order, head back down to the Undercroft and visit the Rune puzzle wall. Shoot down the first symbol, the symbols will start to rearrange and the symbol you shot down won’t be visible anymore. Shoot down the second symbol and repeat the process for the rest. Don’t take too long to find and shoot each symbol, as beyond a certain time, the puzzle will reset.
Once you have shot down all six rune symbols, an orb will appear and reveal a hollow section in the wall beside it. There is a strange book inside, but that is a puzzle for another time.
