Metaphor ReFantazio also makes you a bounty hunter but instead of shooting out humans, the bounty in Metaphor ReFantazio are giant beasts roaming the world. Taking them down is not going to be an easy run, you need to prepare before you decide to enter the field with them. Man’s Not-So Best Friend is the first bounty you will get in the game and also has one of the nastiest boss fights with Maneater Manjula in the game. How To Start Man’s Not-So Best Friend Bounty
- You must finish the main quest Thwart Zorba’s Plan to unlock your first bounty in the Metaphor ReFantazio. If you haven’t completed the main quest, the board on the recruitment center will always be empty.
- Once you complete the main quest, then make your way to the Recruitment Center, talk to the Recruiter Dispatcher to take the bounty Man’ts No-So Best Friend. Since there is no deadline attached to the bounty requirement, you don’t need to rush to finish it right from the start.
- Here you gather some intel on the bounty and the boss if you can spare some coin, so if you are feeling heavy with a thick coin pouch, then head on to Hushed Honeybee and start talking to the informant about the desert and interesting facts about the Boss. But the information will cost you 150 Reeve.
How To Defeat Maneater Manjula In Metaphor: ReFantazio
Prepare for the Boss
The boss we are about to also weak to Ice and Physical damage, having a Brawler, Mage, and Healer will balance everything out here.
Lastly, prepare yourself and the party, especially for poison damage, having some Robust Remedies in the backpack will come in handy if things do take a hairy turn. Maneater Manjula is also fond of Fire Breathing on all of our party members, having a good amount of healing items never hurts.
Once you are ready, now you need to venture out to Tradia Desert via the main gate in Grand Trad or the south exit on Sunlumeo Street.
Time To Lure Maneater Manjula
The bounty will not show up right away, we need to move some things around for him to appear for us. Here we have to attack 3 packs of Hyenos. You will find the pack of dogs almost anywhere in the desert, since they all hunt in groups you are always in luck to find them in packs of three.
The game will mark the Hyeno spots on your map to make it easier to track. They are easy to beat, I like to see them as an appetizer for us before you go for the main course.
Note: We just have to beat the Hyenos in the game, no need to go after other enemies in the desert. Maneater Manjula only reacts to Hyeno packs.
Once you defeat all three packs of Hyenos, the battle transition to the boss fight will happen automatically. It is a good idea to save just after you are done with the second pack of Hyenos, since on killing the third pack, the cutscene will automatically follow putting you against the bounty we are here for: Maneater Manjula.
Maneater Manjula Key Attacks To Avoid
Level: 22
Combat Abilities:
- War Cry – Lower Attack and Defence of all Party Members.
- Fire breath – Fire damage to every party member.
- Stinger Frenzy – Physical Damage to only one party member
- Poison Needle – Same as Stinger Frenzy but a chance of inflicting poison status.
Elemental Resists: Fire
Weakness: Physical Strikes and Ice.
Tips To Defeat The Maneater Manjula
- We need to hit the boss where it hurts. Exploit the weakness, Physical Strikes, and Ice to deliver the maximum amount of damage, and set the Brawler and Mage ready to focus on the boss.
- Have the healer ready for the Fire Breath attack, since it leaves a stain on all the party members. Maneater will start using Poison Needle once its health is halfway down.
- Pay attention to the Posion status, make sure to have your Healer and Robus Remedies ready if any of your party members gets poisoned by the Posion Needle attack. While most of the time it does physical damage there is a slight chance of the attack move inflicting poison status.
It’s going to be a tough fight since it’s the first bounty in the game. But that doesn’t mean you should let your guard down, the poison status is a thing to remember on the loading screen if you are not careful in the battle.
Rewards On Completing Man’s Not-So Best Friend Bounty
Defeating Maneater Manjula will give you:
- 550 Xp,
- 600 MAG
- 500 Reeve
- Rusted Weapon x1
- Bone Helm x1
- Rampager Tail
Take the Rampager Tail and deliver it to the Dispatcher in the Recruitment Center to obtain 10,000 Reeve. This completes the Man’s Not-So-Best Friend side quest in Metaphor ReFantazio.
